What is Green Conacard?

The National Council of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of the Dominican Republic (Conacerd), reported that it will soon launch the project “Conacer Green” of national electric mobility and climate change, for the sustainable protection of the Environment, the economy and the reduction of global warming in the country.

“We are going to supply the MSMEs of electric motors in the country”, expressed the president of Conard, Anthony Red Cross.

The Red Cross said through a statement that the objective of the project Conacer Green seeks to contribute to the responsibility of the Dominican government by signing the Paris agreement in 2016, to meet the national goals for climate change, which consists of protecting the environment, reducing CO2, protecting the national economy and lower consumption of fossil fuels.

“Conacerd will soon launch the project Conacer Green, based on a demographic study carried out throughout the country, with a sample of 1,981 grocery stores, whose objective was to determine their impact on the national economy. In addition, the level of services that they offered to their clients during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic”, indicates Cruz Rojas.

The study also included knowing: the number of employees generated, the number of Deliveris per business, the size of the grocery store, the family’s livelihood base and, finally, knowing the type of sex that works in the grocery store.

Rojas indicated that the study was carried out by the national and international pollster Emevenca Dominicana, with more than 25 years of experience in the market, under the auspices of Coca Cola International and Conacerd.

The results of the survey are as follows: job creation: 23% of grocery stores have one employee, 34% have two employees, 24% have three, 12% have four and 7% have five employees.

In relation to the amount of delivery in businesses: 64% have one delivery, 25% have two, 8% have three and 3% have four deliveries. In relation to the size of the colmado we have: 13% are large, 62% are medium and 25% are small.

According to the study carried out by the pollster, 84% say that it is the family’s livelihood and 16% say that it depends on their own efforts. In addition, 66% of them are attended by men and 18% by women.

“In Conacerd we also highlight from the study that: 80% of the grocery stores are installed in 16 provinces of the country and the remaining 20% ​​are located in the remaining 16 provinces,” he said.

He pointed out that based on the results of the reference survey, they have decided to launch the project “Conacer Green”, to protect the environment, the economy, the renewal of fossil fuels for renewable energy, the reduction of CO2 and global warming, in support of the government.
