The ‘contech’ sector in Colombia projects a growth of 35% annually for the next few years. The trend would be motivated by the digital transformation in the construction industry and the adoption of new technologies that seek to improve efficiency and sustainability.

By 2024, in particular, it is projected that the construction sector in Colombia, which encompasses Contech technologies, will grow between 5% and 8% due to the reactivation of public and private investment.
According to Carlos José Alvarado, CEO and co-founder of Retri, “Although the Contech sector in Colombia does not have the recognition it deserves, it has great potential to attract investments.”

Regarding the types of investment, the manager highlighted that this has increased with a greater focus on infrastructure and sustainability projects. “Globally, investments in Contech have shown a significant increase, especially in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability, which have been the most attractive to investors in 2024”he highlighted.
