Ernesto del Canal “Tony”
After achieving popularity with his first television role, Ernesto continued his acting career. In 2012 he graduated with a Bachelor of Theater Art specializing in acting from the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana.
Later he returned to the small screen in detective spaces and the soap opera “Palabras propias”.
In addition, he acted in films such as “La Partida” directed by Antonio Gens and “Cuatro puertas”, by Juan Pablo Daranas, Four seasons in Havana directed by Felix Viscarret; among other.
Later he moved to Mexico where he continued working as an actor in the theater. Currently he lives in Canada with his family and is dedicated to audiovisual post-production.
Jenry Betancourt “Felito”
On the other hand, Jenry Betancourt has not been able to continue dedicating herself to acting as she would have liked. She beyond some occasional roles in police spaces. The young man currently resides in Güira de Melena and started a family.
About his little presence on television, he recently explained why on social networks
“(…) But my disappointment was so great as a child with so many promises that they made me, with so many rejections for not being from the capital, so many lies, so many inflated castings that I was very disappointed in television,” he confessed.
“But the things that happened to me as a child were unfair and here I am seeing things on television that amaze me a lot, the same things always appear in soap operas, not to mention the lack of actors of color,” he said.
Betancourt also publishes critical messages against the dictatorship and has publicly called for the release of political prisoners.
On January 30, he wrote on his networks: “First of all, ask the relatives of these brave men for permission to ask for freedom for these boys who are unjustly imprisoned along with many other innocent people; but these in particular hurt me because they are from my town, Güira de Melena. It is sad to see those relatives, those mothers and fathers whose sadness is reflected on their faces. Freedom now! Enough injustice!, she demanded.
