The Cuban public probably remembers two significant moments that made Martínez the subject of debate: his televised wedding and his illness with cancer.

Jorge was at the center of controversy in 2006 when he broadcast his live wedding from the Red Room of the Capri, through the program “El Expreso”.

Prolonged chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions managed to save his life and bring him back to the screen.

Later, facing the extreme fatigue caused by the illness and the removal of a lung, he managed to work on the film Last days in Havanaby Fernando Pérez, one of the “most challenging” jobs he has had in his career, as he told the page Cubaactores in an interview.

“Throughout my career, I have learned many things. The truth is that one never stops learning, but working alongside great actors with whom I have had the luck and privilege of working, I have always seen humility. I think that is the most important thing I have learned,” he said.

Where is Jorge Martinez?

Last year, we saw him acting in the soap opera The right to dreamwhere he played the role of Spanish actor José Goula, and that of Reynaldo, a program director at a modern radio station.

Although until the end of March he had posted images on his social media from the island of Sardinia, south of Italy, and from Cagliari, among others, Martínez has recently been seen in Cuba.
