What happened to Irving Acosta, the athlete who defended a woman from sexual abuse?

The subject attempted to subdue and sexually abuse the woman, however he was confronted by Irving, who upon seeing the subject flee on the motorcycle chased him and ran over him with his truck, causing injuries to one of the man’s legs.

Raúl “N”, the alleged aggressor, was treated by paramedics and transferred to a hospital for medical attention, where he was declared under arrest for the crime of attempted rape.

Acosta Reyes was also arrested for the crime of assault, and the athlete’s family and friends demonstrated at Infonavit Las Vegas to demand his release.

The young man was released this Saturday and left the Early Care Unit of the Attorney General’s Office in Boca del Río, after the 48 hours that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has to present a person before a judge had elapsed.

“You don’t know if it’s right or not to help someone because they’re going through difficult situations, but I’ve always been willing to help,” he told the media when he left the Prosecutor’s Office to meet his family and friends.

She said she did not act with the intention of hurting the subject, but hopes that it will serve as an example for other cases of sexual harassment or assault against women.

“I hope this is a lesson, that the girls know that they are not alone, that there are men who are firm, we are correct and we try to do good,” Acosta Reyes commented.

Raúl “N” remains under investigation and an arrest warrant has already been issued against him, so it is expected that once he is discharged he will remain in preventive detention for two years.
