The president of National Election Jury (JNE), Jorge Luis Salas Arenas, rejected the accusation —without any proof— of the businessman Zamir Villaverde. In that sense, he denied that he had met with a group of people with the purpose of altering the results of the 2021 presidential elections in favor of then-candidate Pedro Castillo.
In this regard, he stated that he has not held any meeting or dealings with Villaverde Garciawith Bruno Pacheco or with the former mayor of Huaraz Vladimir Meza, as declared by the businessman, who aspires to be an effective collaborator of the Prosecutor’s Office.
“I reject those falsehoods about meetings with people with whom I have had no dealings, neither with Mr. Villaverde, nor with Mr. Pacheco, nor with Mr. Meza, with none of the people these people are referring. Nor have I ever met them in Lima, outside of Lima or anywhere,” said Salas Arenas.

He also stated that the statements of Zamir Villaverde they have no basis and that, on the contrary, they seek to generate doubts about last year’s elections and about their performance as an authority of the JNE.
Zamir Villaverde denounces electoral fraud
The statements of Sand Rooms respond to the complaint —without any proof— that Zamir Villaverde formulated last Thursday insisting on an alleged electoral fraud in the 2021 elections.
In this regard, it indicated that Vladimir Meza acted as Pedro Castillo’s operator in the National Elections Jury, since the former mayor of Huaraz maintained a presumed friendship with the head of the National Elections Jury.
