What did the IM order for passenger transport, after the end of the health emergency?

The Municipality of Montevideo (IM) updated the sanitary provisions for covid-19, after the cessation of the health emergency decreed by the government. In that sense, and regarding the use of face masks, the commune “urges the population to continue using it in closed spaces”noted in a release this Tuesday night.

The departmental authorities extend that exhortation to buses, taxis and other means of passenger transport, both for users and workers. For means of transport, it recommends a ventilation adequate, which allows to renew the air inside the units.

On the other hand, closed premises they can count on 100% of its capacity, in line with the provisions of the Executive Branch. In addition, the control of the vaccination scheme against covid-19 in dances and other places where shows are held will no longer be mandatory.

In turn, the community encourages the use of face masks for the staff of shops, supermarkets and places where the public is served. The provisions on furniture and interpersonal distances will also be without effect.

“In the gastronomic spaces The IM urges to maintain the placement of partitions, permanent sanitization, alcohol gel available to the public, interpersonal distance and assisted service for premises with a self-service system, buffet and the like, “says the text.

The mayor clarifies that these measures are not mandatory and that there will be no sanctions.

The closing time for bars, restaurants and the like will no longer apply until 02:00as established by decree from the worst moments of the covid pandemic.

As well the end time of shows at 05:00 will be eliminated, as ordered. In that case, the system prior to the health emergency will return, in which each business must adhere to its category and its respective permit.

Some of the requirements for sport activity in clubs and gyms, such as the frequency of classes and interpersonal distance, will also be eliminated. What’s more The use of showers and changing rooms will be released in clubs and gyms.
