Crucial hours. By 09:00 this Thursday, it is expected that the Constitution Committee of the Chamber of Deputies Call to session the members of the benches of the political forces of Creemos, Comunidad Ciudadana (CC) and the Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS)to analyze the three census bills, this after the fourth intermission that was granted on Wednesday, after an embarrassing and failed call.

If an agreement is reached between the three political stores, they would send a single project to the plenary session of the Lower House that will install its session at 6:00 p.m., according to the announcement made by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Jerges Mercado.

The deputy from Santa Cruz was optimistic when revealing that this Thursday night a nominal vote could be given among the three benches and thus approve the national registration law. He explained that 65 votes are needed to approve the law, and they have enough (without explicitly mentioning the ‘archist’ wing), added those of Creemos and Comunidad Ciudadana (CC).

It’s a matter of hoursbut today the conflict has to be resolved and hopefully from now on the dialogue will last, putting the country’s interests first,” he said.

The position of the Interinstitutional Committee was fundamental in pointing out that technically the census is no longer feasible to carry it out in 2023. The governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, instructed the Santa Cruz parliamentarians to make the great national survey viable by 2024.

In telephone contact with EL DEBERTatiana Áñez, head of the Creemos bench in Santa Cruz, stated that the president of the Constitution commission, Juan José Jáuregui, is expected to convene them to install the session and reach a consensus among parliamentarians in terms of translating into law the decree of registration.

After the request of the leader of Creemos, Áñez ratified that they will support the census in 2024 and that they will support the legislative initiative presented by the MAS, mainly by the deputy Deysi Choque, since it contains the same spirit that they demanded as the distribution of co-participation resources and seats.

“The MAS project has all the components that the projects that we had presented have, the only divergence and meeting point was the date of the census. If there is a predisposition and willingness of the pro-government deputies to carry out their law, we will support it ”, explained.

Áñez mentioned that as a bench will contribute so that the pro-government project is divided into two articles and not only in one, and other small details in the wording.

Opposite criterion was that of Citizen Community. Óscar Balderas, parliamentarian of CC, announced to EL DEBER that this Thursday they will hold a meeting as a bench to analyze the request of the Inter-institutional Committeeto support the census by 2024.

“We will do an evaluation of all the announcements that were given in Santa CruzWe need to give certainty to the country, we must act responsibly and with political maturity,” he stressed.

Balderas expressed, as a Beni deputy, that the Population and Housing Census must be carried out in 2023qualifying as “disastrous” if it is carried out in 2024 because in March is a time of harvest and rain in Pando and the Beniano department.

“It’s a very personal position. rejection that is in 2024I remain firm that it be in 2023 ”, he said.

Finally, he agreed with his colleague from Creemos, that if there is political will of the MAS a consensus is reachedcorrecting the points in disagreement.
