The insecurity and unemployment are the main problems that concern Uruguayans, followed by the economic situation and education, according to a survey released this Wednesday by the equipment consultant.

Steps below, with mentions below 10%, social problems appear, inflation, politicians and drugs.
If all the references to the economy are added (economic situation, inflation and low wages), this dimension is located above insecurity. Unemployment is also a major problem that concerns citizens.
Regarding short-term variations, insecurity and unemployment rose again at the beginning of 2023 (after having fallen in December 2022). Concern about the drug also grew. On the other hand, the economic situation and social problems have diminished in relevance.
Regarding the comparison with the previous government, the concern for insecurity has decreased significantly, while the concern for the economic situation has increased. Unemployment and education occupy a similar place to that of five years ago. Social problems, politics, inflation and drugs have a greater figuration than five years ago.

The consulting firm Equipos Consultores conducted a face-to-face survey between March 21 and 29, 2023 in towns with more than 2,000 inhabitants throughout the national territory. The universe of study was all people over 18 years of age, selected from a stratified and probabilistic sample of households.
The effective sample size of the survey was 704 cases, with a maximum expected margin of error of +- 3.7%.
