What and when is the 2023 Banking Convention?

What is the Banking Convention?

This is an annual event in which bankers discuss current issues and invite prominent figures from the sector.

The Convention is organized by the Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM), which is currently chaired by Daniel Becker, president of Mifel.

Date of the 86th Banking Convention

This year, the Convention will be on March 16 and 17 at the Yucatan International Congress Center (CIC).

In addition to government officials such as President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the governor of Mérida, Mauricio Vila, there will also be the head of the Treasury Secretariat, Rogelio Ramírez de la O.

On behalf of the Bank of Mexico, the participation of Governor Victoria Rodríguez is planned.

On behalf of the regulator, it will be Jesús de la Fuente, head of the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) who will participate in the opening of the event.

In addition to government officials, there will also be a lecture by Brett King, an Australian futurist and best-selling author.

Also there will be Raghuran Rajan, former governor of the Bank of India and former chief economist of the IMF’s research area.
