Wellington Silva’s appointment will be published in an extra edition, later today, in the Official Gazette of the Union. He will replace Ricardo Lewandowski.

Wellington Silva was Petrobras’ general attorney. It is the second time that he holds the position of Minister of Justice, as he previously headed the department during Dilma Rousseff’s administration.

He was also special secretary for Legal Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic in the current administration. During his career, he has held the positions of Attorney General of Justice of Bahia and Deputy Attorney General of Justice for Legal Affairs.

On the 8th, Ricardo Lewandowski delivered a letter requesting his resignation to President Lula.
