Laguna Merín already has its official poster
The Laguna Merín spa finally looks its official welcome poster, installed by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP) through the National Road Directorate, in coordination with the private company in charge of the construction of access to the area.
The placement of this sign responds to a historical claim of neighbors, tourists and local authorities, which for years indicated the absence of a signage according to the importance of this tourist center. “It was a poster that should have always been, as is the case in all the localities of the Interior, villages and populated centers in the country,” said the inhabitants of the area.
Until now, the only welcome poster was a wooden artisanal piece, made with effort and dedication by residents of the spa, as a way of supplying official oblivion. With the recent management carried out by the mayor of the municipality and supported by other departmental authorities, it was achieved that the MTOP attends the claim and give a specific response.
The installation of this new signage is valued as a recognition of the tourist identity of Laguna Merín and a way of hierarchizing the spa, putting it at the height of other destinations in the interior of the country. For neighbors and visitors, it is a symbolic but highly anticipated step, which marks the entrance to a place that is consolidated year after year as one of the main attractions of the department of Cerro Largo.
