Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that a trough and humidity in the air mass have been causing this Friday moderate to heavy downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind in the towns of San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Independencia , Elías Piña, Monte Cristi, Valverde, Puerto Plata, Duarte, La Altagracia, El Seibo and Monte Plata.
But, over the course of this Friday night, the rainy conditions will gradually disappear, with a sky with scattered to clear clouds predominating, according to the forecast.
For its part, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains the provinces of Santiago, La Vega and Santiago Rodríguez on green alert, due to the downpours caused by the trough.

For this Saturday, the trough will be located in the northeast of the country, but humidity values will be reduced, “even so, we predict local downpours with isolated thunderstorms from the morning hours towards the north, northeast, Central Mountain Range and the border area, such as : Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Monte Cristi, Dajabón San Juan, Independencia, Elías Piña, among others.
The Meteorologist said that for the other locations, a hot, slightly cloudy environment and little rainfall is expected in much of the Dominican territory.
Temperatures will remain hot, due to the influence of the warm and humid wind from the southeast, so it is recommended to hydrate frequently, drinking water, and looking for cool and ventilated places.
On Sunday, a weak tropical wave is expected to pass through the south of the country, causing some showers and isolated thunderstorms over La Altagracia, El Seibo, La Romana, Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macorís, El Gran Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez , Monsignor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, Azua, San Juan and Elías Piña.
