Meteorología: Nubes dispersas y temperaturas calurosas

Weather: Scattered clouds and hot temperatures

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) reported this Monday that the weather conditions over the country will remain a sky with scattered clouds to partly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, normal sea conditions and hot temperatures.

The Onamet predicted that in the course of the afternoon there will be cloudy concentrations that will generate local downpours with thunderstorms and gusts of wind, especially towards the northwest, north and the Central Cordillera regions, induced by the effects of the southeast wind and a system of high pressure in Atlantic Ocean.

“Temperatures will remain hot due to the incidence of the warm wind from the southeast and due to the slight presence of Saharan dust particles, ”explained the governing body of the climate.

Meteorology recalled that in the months of May, June and July, the activity of electrical storms (lightning and thunderstorms) increases in the country, due to the convective season. In addition, the probability of hail and tornadoes generating high winds is increased.

For tomorrow, Tuesday, in the early hours of the day, a mostly sunny and little rain, however, scattered showers, thunderstorms and occasional wind gusts will return in the afternoon; over the northwestern and northern regions, the Caribbean coastal littoral and the Central Cordillera due to the incidence of the trough present at various levels of the troposphere, and the local effects of diurnal heating.
