Santo Domingo.– He Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) launched the program this Tuesday “Agents at 100”a youth volunteering initiative that seeks to strengthen education in values, student participation and the training of a new generation of young people committed to the development of the country.
The launch event, led by Minister Luis Miguel De Campswas carried out in the Professor Germán Martínez High Schoolin the sector The Riverswhere this proposal was officially presented that will serve as the operational arm of the program “Citizens at 100”focused on promoting the common good, democracy and peaceful coexistence.
During his speech, From Camps explained that “Agents at 100” It is the living expression of the competency-based curriculum, where what is learned becomes service and values cease to be theory and become behavior, example and commitment. He stressed that this initiative is part of the teaching of Moral, Civic and Citizen Ethicswhich since this school year has been part of the curriculum of the public pre-university system.
“We want civility to be everyday, for respect to become a habit and for values, in modern language, to become viral: part of who we are and what identifies us as Dominicans,” the minister highlighted.
As part of the ceremony, the institutional video of the “Ciudadanos al 100” programfollowed by reading the Citizen Commitmentwhere students committed to promoting peace, justice, equity and solidarity. Subsequently, the swearing-in of the first Agents at 100students who will assume the role of positive leaders and multipliers of values in their educational centers and communities.

One of the most symbolic moments was the presentation of the National Map of Citizens at 100which reflects the territorial expansion of the program and the network of volunteers throughout the country.
From Camps pointed out that “Agents at 100” is aligned with the Roadmap 2025–2028which places education in values as the central axis of educational policy, and promotes student participation, shared governance and comprehensive training.
Through this network, students will develop their own projects, encourage participation in social causes and become examples of positive leadership, strengthening solidarity, teamwork and the sense of belonging.
He MINERD highlighted that the Agents at 100 will receive civic insignia that recognize their achievements and contributions, as part of the Civic Merit Recognition System of the digital portal Citizens at 100. Distinctions include: Roots of the Nation, Defender of Democracy, Guardians of the Symbols, Ambassador of the Environment, Voices of the Law, Builder of Peace, Shield against Violence, Heart of Duarte, Courage of Mella and Hands of Sánchez.
“Each insignia will be an example medal and evidence of love for the country,” De Camps stated.
The event concluded with a MINERD call to continue building, from the classrooms and communities, a Dominican Republic based on respect, cooperation and citizen responsibility.
With “Agents at 100”he Ministry of Education starts a national youth volunteer movement that turns civic values into action and the dreams of young people into real commitment to their country.
