The National Council of Commerce and Services, (Consecomercio), held the first Regional Meeting on the island of Margarita on Thursday, May 5, on the occasion of the celebration of 115 years of the Nueva Esparta Free Port and Production Chamber of Commerce , (Camtrade).
The president of Consecomercio, Tiziana Polesel, celebrated the work that have been carried out by the various centenary chambers in the country in favor of the economic growth of Venezuela.
He considered that alternability is one of its pillars. “Our cameras are not only renewed, but they are also accountable. Something that very few institutions are currently able to say », he highlighted.
Polesel stressed that in the elections of the business sector unity prevails despite the defeats. “If there is one thing I have learned within the business movement, it is that at election time it is complicated, but the next day we are all one block again,” he added.
The Consecomercio representative also referred to the meetings she has held with national government authorities and stated that the results are not what the private sector expected. “We have let the government know that we have no information, we have no statistics. It is a concern of all sectors because we do not have information », she indicated.

Consecommerce 4.0
For her part, Josefina Salvatierra, executive director of the union, explained the Consecomercio 4.0 project, and highlighted that through digital transformation, the systematization of affiliate processes will be improved.
“With the Consecomercio 4.0 project, everything related to talent, processes and technology will be unified,” he said.
The president of the Venezuelan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Production, (Fedecamaras), Carlos Fernández, during his participation, made an X-ray of the current state of the country and specified that there are flaws that harm productive growth.
“What is happening in the education, health and infrastructure sectors is not a small thing. We want to convince society that a different development model is possible”, declared the union leader.

For his part, the president of the Caracas Chamber of Commerce, Leonardo Palacios, referred to the Tax on Large Financial Transactions, approved more than a month ago by the Executive, and specified that this new legal instrument represents a form of “fiscal greed”. ».
«The Tax on Large Financial Transactions generates an impact on assets as well as a loss of investment. It is necessary to control but the current laws do not favor the consumer », he said.
The IGTF it was also discussed in the activity by Luigi Pisella, president of the Venezuelan Confederation of Industrialists, (Conindustria).
He considered that the value of the new tax, of 3%, should be reduced because “in the industry we not only have to compete with the new taxes but with those of the raw material.”
Also participating in the union meeting were: Gustavo Valecillos, first vice president of Consecomercio; Leudo González, president of Conseturismo; Pedro Marín, president of the Chamber of Telecommunications Services Companies, Casetel and Inés Quintero, representative of the National Academy of History, among others.
