The Mexican team, led by former Paraguayan coach Gerardo Martino, beat Iraq 4-0 this Wednesday in a preparation match for the Qatar-2022 World Cup, played at the Montilivi stadium in Girona, Spain.

Alexis Vegaat minute 3, Rogelio Funes Moriat 48, Jesus Gallardoto 67, and Uriel Antuna at 90+2, scored the goals for the victory of the Mexican team that chose Iraq as ‘sparring’ with a view to participating in the World Cup Group C.
As soon as the game started, the cast of ‘Tata’ came out from the bottom with verticality and speed. Left-back Jesús Gallardo went on the attack and sent a cross into the box that Vega made it 1-0 with a sweep almost to the edge of the six-yard box.

The second period began and immediately El Tri attacked down the right flank with a quick overflow by Antuna who sent the ball into the area for Funes Mori to score and seal the 2-0.
In another move in which he joined the lead, Gallardo found a ball headed in by defender Ali Faez Atiyah and made it 3-0 with a shot from the front inside the area.
The 4-0 came in compensation time with a penalty executed by Antuna. The Mexican player calmly charged to the left of the goalkeeper who launched himself to the opposite side.
After this commitment Iraq will be Ecuador’s rival on Saturday at the Metropolitano stadium in Madrid. Next Wednesday, Mexico will have another warm-up game against Swedenalso in Girona.
