"We want solid companies but without job insecurity": Mintrabajo

This Tuesday, during a commemoration prior to Women’s Day, the Minister of Labor, Gloria Inés Ramírez, spoke about the goals that the National Government has proposed with the labor reform which will soon be filed in the Congress of the Republic for evaluation.

(What the labor reform says about night and Sunday shifts).

In her speech, Minister Ramírez confirmed that the project proposes a reduction in the daytime workday and that the nighttime shift begins at 6 pm

“It has been shown that cutting rights is not the way to find employment. That is one of the central theses that we have to work on. That is why we are proposing the recovery of the daytime shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and that the night shift begin at 6 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. And of course, we protect the companies, that is another task we have”, assured the Minister.

(Draft of labor reform will go to the negotiation table).

He added that although the Government wants solid and strengthened companies, there will be no job insecurity.

“We have said: strong companies, powerful companies, solid companies, but without job insecurity. That is the point that this labor reform has as its axis ”, Ramirez noted.

The project establishes changes in the current regulations, based on the concept of “employment stability”.
