“We need this regime to fall”: Trinidad’s atonement with Rosa Martorell

MIAMI, United States. – An elderly woman from Trinidad, who identified herself on social networks as Mireya Jiménez Calzada, recorded a video this Friday for the Spanish Rosa Martorell, who recently visited the Island and denounced the vicissitudes experienced by Cubans because of the communist regime.

Particularly in Trinidad, when he recorded the queue to buy bread through the ration book, Martorell was summoned and rebuked by two elders. “And why do you come here, to eat shit?” they told him. Meanwhile, other voices threatened to call the Police to hold the influencer and another girl who accompanied him.

After the events, Mireya Jiménez Calzada recorded a video of reparation for Martorellon behalf of thousands of people who, she said, think like her.

“Rosa, sister, friend of the Cuban people. I am an old woman, I am a Trinidadian, and I am going to tell you something: we do not agree with this dictatorship, ”says the woman in a video that has gone viral on social networks.

“I do not agree with this regime, neither I nor thousands like me. Those people that you found wrong are cheeky, they are maintained. Do not think that we are all the same, no, ”he asserted.

The old woman also indicated that she has “denounced a lot, without any fear, the vicissitudes” that Cubans are going through. “Of course we need a change. Of course we need this regime to fall,” she said.

Later, he thanked the influencer Spanish for having gone to Trinidad to bring to light the reality of his people. “Most Trinidadians are supported from exile and that is why they keep quiet and speak that way. Because the tongues are well fattened to shout ‘Fatherland or Death’, as that lady said, ”she pointed out.

For his part, Martorell was quick to respond to the old Cuban woman. This same Friday he published a new video in his social profiles where he thanks Jiménez Calzada for his words.

“The truth is that I feel super loved,” she said. “You show enormous affection and the truth is that I did not expect at all to build in such a short time all this community that is wonderful and in which we are more and more people”.

“You do not need to apologize to me for anything because I know perfectly well that the vast majority of Cubans do not support the dictatorship, I was able to verify it myself when I was there, when I was asking Cubans if you are all very tired of the situation that the social communist government is making them live there.”

Later I sent “a lot of strength” to the Cuban people and asked them to put fear aside. “In the end, Cuba can only be changed from within, only you can change it. Only you can make the change a reality, so put fear aside because if you all go out on the street they can’t put you all in jail, they can’t kill everyone, ”he assured.
