From August 27 to 28, the city of Montería, capital of the department of Córdoba, will be the headquarters of the second RIVERY GLOBAL FORUMin which different mayors and national and international urbanists will talk about the opportunities for growth in sustainable and economic matters for the cities that have grown around the bodies of water.
The Cordoba capital assumes this space as one in which it will share its vision of the integration of the Sinú River to the development of the city and in which it will learn from other cases around the world, in order to develop urban projects with greater preparation, as the portfolio told Portafolio Mayor Hugo Kerguelén.

How does Montería receive the realization of this event?
This will be the second edition of this summit. The first was held in 2015. We basically promote different mayors, both national and international, to promote the social and economic development of cities and around their experiences in terms of the transformation of cities around rivers and water bodies.
More than 21 international mayors will come, more than 39 international experts and we will share 11 cases of national successful cities around the bodies of water. We will also have a capacity of more than 1,000 chairs that will be open to all audiences.

What are the city of Montería to show in this academic event?
We are going to show how Montería has been working for the ordering of the territory around its rivers through projects that has been developing around water; Because here we are not rhetorical on this issue, we are action.

What are they going to talk about at Riverercity Global Forum?
We are going to discuss very important issues such as climatic action, innovative governance, river and sustainable mobility, sustainable urban finances, territorial planning and the challenges and opportunities that exist for cities to be more efficient and competitive, in addition to showing what Montería has and learning from the experiences of others. We want international experts to tell us what their successes and mistakes have been.
That we really learn from these cities causes other cities that are at a turning point in their development, such as Montería, can be more efficient because we cannot afford to make mistakes in territorial planning, because we do not have resources to make mistakes and much less now.
