SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- The Assembly of the Resistance Cuban (ARC), in separate presentations before the Senate of Spain and the Parliament of Lithuania, exposed the complicity and support given by the Cuban regime to Vladimir Putin and called for the cancellation of the economic subsidy that the European Union (EU) grants to the Castro government.
The management of the ARC representatives “has been very productive,” said the ARC Secretary General, Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat, in a video shared with CubaNet.
“We have succeeded, on both fronts, in both forums, speaking before the Plenary of the Parliamentary Group of the Popular Party, and with an exhibition in the Parliament of Lithuania, in presenting the harsh reality of the Castro intervention in favor of Russia with military forces against the people of Ukraine,” said Gutiérrez-Boronat.
In his speech, he highlighted the inconsistency of the European Union sending public resources to the Castro dictatorship when this funding is not used for the benefit of the people.
“We are insisting that the best way to help democracy in Venezuela, help democracy in Cuba, in Nicaragua and also to defend the sovereignty of Ukraine is to suspend this agreement that only feeds the Castro oligarchy,” said the Secretary General of the ARC.
In a speech before the plenary session of the Parliamentary Group of the European People’s Party (EPP), Gutiérrez-Boronat presented the failure of the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Economic Cooperation. He also pointed out the human rights violations in Cuba, the involvement of the Castro military in the Russian invasion of Ukraine and in the support for the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro.
According to a note from the ARC, the delegation, which also included former Cuban political prisoner Jorge Luis García Pérez Antunezand by independent journalist Gelet Fragela, director of ADN Cuba, was received by Manfred Weber, President of the EPP, by Esteban González Pons, Vice-President of the EPP Parliamentary Group, and by MEPs Dolors Montserrat and Juan Salafranca.

In addition, with the exhibition “Putin’s Cuban Army”, in the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas), in the capital of that country, Vilnius, the ARC denounced the methods with which the Castro government actively supports the attack on Ukraine.

The ARC, in this regard, urged the government of Lithuania and its Parliament, like Poland and Sweden, to suspend the European Union’s Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation with Cuba and the annual payments of 150 million euros to the Cuban dictatorship.
