At least 10 weeks have passed since the last time any information about the prisoners and political prisoners who are held captive in the Judicial Assistance Directorate (DAJ), known as “El Chipote”. Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo carried out their electoral farce and still do not allow their hostages to be visited by their families.

The relatives of the opponents demand daily that they be allowed to see them, that the visits be made on a regular basis, that the torture cease and that the girls and boys be able to communicate with their fathers and mothers who are subjected to a forced separation by the regime of Managua.

“My family is broken, I demand visits, calls and letters according to Nicaraguan law and the release of my husband Juan Sebastián Chamorro,” Victoria Cárdenas, wife of the former presidential candidate, wrote on her Twitter account this Monday, November 7.

“Today marks 73 days that political prisoners do not receive visits from their families. We demand that the right to receive visits and communicate with their family be respected while they are released. They are innocent!” denounced the Civic Alliance.

The Be Human campaign also spoke out on social networks about the isolation and incommunicado regime to which political prisoners are subjected. He affirmed that this act of the dictatorship is “totally contrary to the prison laws in the country.”

“The solitary confinement experienced by political prisoners and their families is part of a dehumanizing behavior and torture carried out by the State of #Nicaragua. We demand a #AltoALaTortura”, demanded Be Human.
