Vice President Geraldo Alckmin qualified the 30 -minute conversation Among Presidents Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Donald Trump, this Monday (6), as “very positive”.
“We are very optimistic that we will advance. President Lula highlighted Brazil’s willingness to dialogue and negotiation,” said Alckmin, who is also Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services.
To journalists, Alckmin told the government considered the conversation “even better than we expected.” For him, the dialogue will yield unfolding. He ratified that Lula and Trump exchanged the numbers of personal phones and that the American designated the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio as the interlocutor.

Regarding the tariffs imposed by the US government about Brazilian product exports, Alckmin understands that the conversation will yield next steps, but said it is necessary to “wait”.
In the conversation, according to Alckmin, Lula said that sanctions against Brazilian authorities are not fair and that the subject should be rediscounted. “We are very optimistic that we will advance to winning, in this relationship with reciprocal investments and equation of the tariff issue,” he added.
Alckmin said a new meeting is not scheduled between representatives of governments in Brazil and the United States.
