However, Escobar said that they first bet to know the details of the possible tax measures and that they enlist an action plan, since the AMID is the sixth producer of medical devices worldwide.
“We have spent many crises in the past, we were able to handle the pandemic. I think we are ready for Trump 2.0. We are not taking it very lightly, but we believe there may be solutions, ”he said.
Other challenges and obstacles that AMID considers to attend are the streamlining of government procedures, which usually delay the approval in Mexico of innovative medical devices and technology.
Currently, he estimated, a new medical product takes between 18 months and up to two years to be approved by Mexican health authorities. And that period is only for the regulatory process.
“It is very complex in the issue of innovation, there we still have the conversations with the government stuck,” he said.
