In response to complaints about the lack of response regarding the budget from the Ministry of Equality, he stated that they did respond in a timely manner, but “the email bounced and it is not my problem.”
News Colombia.
Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez arrived at the Congress of the Republic on Wednesday to defend the work of the Ministry of Equality, an entity created during the government of President Gustavo Petro.
This ministry, promoted by Márquez herself, has been singled out for its slow progress in the execution of the 2023 budget.
During a session on the 2025 National Budget Project in the First Commission of the House of Representatives, Márquez responded firmly to the criticism.
“I cannot allow people to tell me that we are lazy. I have worked hard this year to bring an institution forward. This institution was created last year, we deserve to be heard,” said the vice president.
The controversy intensified as some congressmen expressed their discontent at not having received the report on the financial situation of the ministry in time.
Marquez responded by saying that the report was sent the day before: “Here is the proof that the response to the questionnaire was sent to this commission’s email. That it bounced back is no longer a problem for me or the Ministry,” he said.
Marquez also reaffirmed his respect for the Congress, although he made it clear that the responsibility for the technical problems does not lie with his team.
“The email bounced, it’s not my problem,” says Francia Márquez in response to complaints about the lack of information in the ministry’s budget.

This incident occurred one day after President Gustavo Petro supported the vice president, confirming that she will continue to make international trips, despite criticism about the high cost of these missions for the Colombian State.
