The mayor of Cochabamba, Manfred Reyes Villa, arrived this Thursday in the city of La Paz to deliver to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) the registration of your political militancy to participate in the 2025 general elections together with the political organization Autonomía Para Bolivia “APB-Súmate”.
“We have just delivered one of the main requirements to the TSE. The requirement was 105 thousand signatures and we have presented more than 108 thousand signatures (obtained in two months and not in four months, as was the deadline) because the country at this moment is suffering (from the crisis),” he said.
He stressed that he is a politician with “certified experience” and that the testimony is the current image of the city of Cochabamba.
“We know how to manage, Bolivia is no longer there to do experiments. We have to achieve a fundamental change for Bolivia in this very difficult time,” he said.
He assured that he will achieve a change “for a better Bolivia, with hope, with an economy and that prevent people from leaving the country.”
“I tell you one thing: Here we have to establish order, our hand is not going to shake to stop those who want to set the country on fireHere there will be order, democracy, compliance with the laws and, above all, on the issue of the economy, we are going to move our country forward,” he stressed.
Bolivia is going through a period of economic crisis amid a constant shortage of dollars, the irregular distribution of fuel and an increase in prices of food in the family basket and other items.
The next general elections are scheduled for August 2025.
