National Senator Martín Lousteau inaugurated this Saturday the First National Meeting of the Evolución de la Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) space in the province of Santa Fe, where he said that “we are not afraid of the discomfort of governing” and assured that “we are here to face that challenge”, because “the sacrifice can no longer fall on those who don’t give more”.

“Evolution is working so that those who follow are better than us and make life better for those who follow us,” Lousteau said at the event in which several referents of radicalism participated who addressed the electoral projection for 2023.

Along these lines, he maintained that “Argentina is stuck, Argentina hurts” and stated that “we have to reverse that, we work for a simple idea: we want to do things so that future generations are better than the current one.”

“As Alfonsín said, we are not going to reduce the objectives we have for the Homeland one centimeter. And in the face of great challenges, our will must be greater”Martin Lousteau

“The more screwed up everything is, the more protagonists we want to be,” warned the radical leader, according to a space statement, and pointed out that “we are not afraid of the discomfort of governing, we are here to face that challenge, because sacrifice cannot fall more on those who don’t give more”.

During the first national congress of that political space and in front of militants from all over the country, the national senator expressed that his duty is “to come and show all Argentines that what is happening can be changed, and for that they need ideas, work and diagnosis”.

“As Alfonsín said, we are not going to reduce the objectives we have for the Homeland one centimeter. And in the face of great challenges, our will must be greater,” added the radical leader at the meeting that began with activities at 11:30 a.m. in the UPCN site in the capital of Santa Fe.

The president of the UCR of Santa Fe, Felipe Michlig, and the head of the block of national deputies of Evolution, Rodrigo De Loredo, also spoke at the event.

On the other hand, he considered that “the Argentine State does not solve any of the citizens’ anguish” and pointed out that “it collects more and more taxes, stifling production”, for which he proposed “an agile State that will solve the problems of Argentines”.

“The example and the spirit that we want is to go to serve the State, not to use the State,” he affirmed, mentioning in this sense “Maxi Pullaro, who at 40 was Minister of Security, put ‘Los Monos’ and went to testify every time they asked him to. And he didn’t go with a bulletproof vest like others do.”

The president of the UCR of Santa Fe, Felipe Michlig, and the head of the block of national deputies of Evolución, Rodrigo De Loredo, also spoke at the event.

In addition, a final document was read with different positions of the space towards next year’s elections, with the aim of “making a bigger and better radicalism; and a Together for Change that surpasses previous experiences,” according to the text.

“We want a modern society of equals. Neither modern for a few nor equal in mediocrity. And for that, it is essential to rebuild a State that is rigorous in administration and sensitive in its priorities,” the document stated, stating that “The challenge is to rebuild our Nation refounding our State with another political culture”.
