“We are going to be government supporters”: Ximena Rincón clarifies the relationship that the bench of DC senators will have with La Moneda

The head of the caucus of the senators of the Christian Democrats (DC), Ximena Rincón, pointed out that she wants “this government to do well, because if the government does well, the country does well and the President knows that.” .

“We are going to be government supporters in everything that represents benefits and good living for our country, and we are not going to be, and we are going to loyally say so to the President in those things that go against citizenship. And that is not being an opposition, it is being a contributing critic”, clarified the DC senator.

Likewise, regarding the constitutional convention and the role of the government, the parliamentarian commented that “the Constituent Assembly has majority representation from Approve Dignity, from the Socialist Party. So, they are in the Constituent Assembly and they are not oblivious to what happens there. And this I have told Minister Jackson and President Boric. It is important that they understand that they have a role in the constituent. And the DC has only one vote”, emphasized the representative of the Falangist senators.

And we are not going to be able to think of the 40 or 50 years that lie ahead as if Spain, Germany and other countries that should be our benchmark have done so,” explained Rincón.

Finally, regarding the governability factor, the head of the DC senators’ caucus indicated that “it will be the great challenge, to build agreements and ensure that the projects and initiatives that are discussed in Parliament achieve the necessary majorities to advance and this It supposes a lot of generosity, that the political actors can think about the good of the country and be transparent and talk with many more actors”.
