Víctor Torres told the Prosecutor’s Office that he interceded through Nicanor Boluarte for appointments to the IPD.
Speaking to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Victor Torres said that he spoke with Nicanor Boluarte so that he could convey Guido Flore’s recommendations as the holder of the IPD and other people who participated in supporting Dina Boluarte’s electoral campaign in the last elections for head of state.
“The other fact that I am going to clarify is about the appointment, through Nicanor Boluarte Zegarra, the recommendation for the presidency of the Peruvian Sports Institute for Mr. Guido Flores Marchán, and through him, the recommendation for some service locations of people who supported the campaign,” Torres Merino told the Prosecutor’s Office.
Torres Merino said that he proposed Guido Flores to the aforementioned entity because they have known each other since they met at the Cantuta University approximately 25 years ago, when they worked on training programs. In response, Nicanor Boluarte told him that he will speak to his sister about the request.
“I spoke with Nicanor Boluarte for the proposal of the current president of the IPD Guido Flores Marchán. I proposed him because I have known him from the Cantuta University for more or less 20 or 25 years when we worked together in training programs (…) so I personally gave him the CV of the current president Guido Flores and he said that he would speak with his sister to be able to reach a good agreement,” he told the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Nicanor Boluarte’s lawyer emphasized that Victor Torres’ statements must be corroborated.
The legal defense of the brother of the President of the Republic, Nicanor Boluarte, Luis Vivanco, said that the statements of Victor Torres Merino before the Prosecutor’s Office “will have to be corroborated” and maintained that the delivery of Guido Flores’ CV to his client and that the aforementioned was then appointed to said position is “false.”
