The preliminary investigation against the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, for the alleged crimes of generic active bribery, actual concealment and influence peddling against the State, was expanded this afternoon by the Special Team of Prosecutors against Corruption of Power.
This is because, in his capacity as deputy minister and head of the cabinet of advisors to the Ministry of the Interior, he allegedly carried out acts intended to obstruct the investigation against Nicanor Boluarte Zegarra and others.
The document also indicates that Santiváñez will also be investigated for the deactivation of the PNP Special Team in support of the EFFICOP and the cover-up of the investigated Jorge Ortiz Marreros.
The investigation is being conducted by provincial prosecutor Carlos Ordaya López.
