Merchants from the Ureña, Cancelas, Brisas de las Américas and Laura Marie sectors, from Santo Domingo Este, denounced that they are being hit by a wave of robberies due to the indifference of the Police.
The robberies of grocery stores and residences have claimed the lives of several people, so the merchants ask the director of the Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, to order the intervention of that area that the thieves already have in a state of anxiety.
The merchant and community leader of the La Ureña sector, Rafael González, denounced that the residents of the area feel powerless in the face of the terror that criminals have implanted due to the inaction of the Police in the aforementioned sectors.
He argued that more than a month ago they robbed a grocery store and killed an elderly couple and that on Wednesday they stole several cell phones from a house where they shot the owner.
He pointed out that in recent months there have been robberies in more than five grocery stores. “Crime has this covered and police He doesn’t say anything,” he said.
The merchant González denounced that in the area there are also gangs occupying land and private property, without the authorities confronting these criminal acts.

The gang also robs lottery banks and other establishments, for which they urgently need a quick intervention by the National Police, to restore tranquility to the area.
