The Consumer Price Information System report presents the summary of minimum, average and maximum prices of the product mineral waterreported by establishments throughout the country between June 1 and 7, 2023.
When comparing the average price of sparkling table water between the first week of June 2022 and the first week of the same month in 2023, the year-on-year variation for this product was 10.4%.
In the more than 500 commercial stores surveyed, differences of up to $51 were found between the lowest and highest prices for the same container.
The average price of the water cans that emerges from this study is located at $124, that of the bottle of still water from 2.25 to 2.5 at $62.6 and that of the bottle from 2.25 to 2 .5 of sparkling water at $64.2.

The data reported by the Montevideo establishments to the Consumer Price Information System (SIPC) is based on what happened between June 1 and 7, 2023. The average price of this product remained similar to that observed in the same previous period ( May 25 to 31), with the exception of Matutina sparkling water 2.5 lts. and the Nativa 6 lts. showing a price increase. In the first case, the variation was about $2 (2.46%) and in the second, almost $5 (3.46%).

Beverage sales grow
According to a recent report by Radar Scanntech, beverage sales in recent months increased as a result of the water crisis. The report reports that businesses registered an 8% increase in overall sales in May compared to the same month in 2022.
According to the latest data collected by Radar Scanntech, if the first five months of the year are considered, sales growth was 1%, while billing rose 10%.
Between January and May, the products of the Beverages category increased their growth by 14.8%, being the only articles that registered an accentuation with respect to the same period of the previous year.
