Bravery is put to the test here, in a competition not for the faint of heart and body. The Chinchilpos and Gamonales face each other again in honor of Tayta Niño in the Huayucachi district, Huancayo province, after years of suspension due to the pandemic.

The entire population is divided to support the two groups, the Chinchilpos who have their classic red dress and the Gamonales in light blue.
The results of the competition are strictly linked to agricultural productivity, since they say in the district that if the Chinchilpos win, those of the town who are the ones that represent the peasants will have great productivity. But, if the Gamonales, the rich and millionaires, win, then there will be famine.
Armed with whips made from animal hides, the chosen ones from both sides reach the middle of the Huayucachi stadium, and there, before the watchful eye of the entire population and guarded by agents of the National Police, they fight a duel. Powerful swings with the whips again and again, at each other for 20 seconds, the blows must be given only between the arms and the head that have been previously protected with helmets and shoulder pads.
