Warns airlines not to charge tax of 10 dollars to Dominicans

The president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), José Marte Piantini, warned the airlines that they should not apply the payment of ten dollars per tourist card, tax applied to air tickets.

Marte Piantini met with representatives of the different airlines where it was agreed to form a commission of JAC officials and airline executives, which would be in charge of following up on compliance with the presidential provision.

The presidential provision to exonerate the payment of ten dollars for a tourist card, favors both the thousands of Dominicans living abroad, as well as foreigners residing in the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Marte Piantini said that the measure ordered by President Luis Abinader, via the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), is part of the government’s interest in helping and providing the necessary facilities to Dominicans living abroad.
