The Waraira Repano Cable Car System in Caracas It will be under maintenance from April 30, 2022 for a period between four and six months. This was announced by Víctor Cruz, president of the Venezuelan Cable Car Company.
Cruz said in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión that at that time the cables and electromechanical parts will be replaced, in order to “offer a better service to tourists.”
As for the visits during that time, Víctor Cruz explained that an alternate route will be enabled to go up Galipán. Where there will be at least 46 transport units to transport users to El Ávila.
On this route, visitors will be able to stop at the viewpoint of the “Boca de Tigre” sector, where they will be offered hot chocolate and will be able to enjoy the different planned cultural activities.
He indicated that the biosecurity measures will be maintained during the tour, and the personnel who work in the system will be vigilant that they are fulfilled.
On the other hand, Cruz pointed out that they expect the Macuto Cable Car System to come into operation soon in 2022. Just as the Merida Cable Car System is expected to start operations again; and start operating the Galipán Cable Car System, which will have three stations.

Waraira Repano Cable Car Rates
The system rate in Caracas is between 5 and 7 dollars, which are anchored to the rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela. While the rate for tourists is 20 dollars. For its part, parking has a cost of 3 dollars.
The schedules enabled for the cable car are:
- Thursday and Friday: from 12 pm to 7 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: from 12 pm to 8 pm
