War: "In the ruling party there is unity of criteria to advance with the project"

The president of the Senate Budget Commission, Ricardo Guerra, assured that “in the ruling party there is unity of criteria to advance” with the project to pay debt that Argentina has with the IMF with escaped funds and trusted that “it will be possible to count with the votes to get it approved” in the National Congress.

“This fund will be made up of money evaded from taxes generated in our country and taken abroad. It will allow us to generate a fund to pay the debt” with the international credit organization contracted by the government of Mauricio Macri, said the senator for La Rioja in radio statements.

Guerra defended the bill promoted by the block of national senators of the Front for All (FdT) which, he said, seeks that “the weight of this exaggerated indebtedness inherited from the previous government does not fall on the vast majority of the Argentine people who have not tax evasion”.

“What the project raises is whether one is going to be in favor of the evaders or against it,” he said in statements to Radio Rioja Virtual, in relation to the rejection of the initiative by the opposition Together for Change (JxC) and added that this position “when the time comes, it will have to be analyzed with a view to society”.

“The funds that are sought are those that have evaded taxes and fled abroad,” insisted the senator, who recalled that the debt of 45 billion dollars taken on by the government of Mauricio Macri with the IMF “just as it entered, it went abroad and we Argentines are left with the burden of having to pay that debt”.

However, he assured that the bill that proposes to create a “National Fund for the cancellation of the debt with the IMF” with money that has fled abroad that is being debated in the Senate has the support of all the ruling party.

“In the ruling party there is unity of criteria to move forward with the project and optimism that it will be possible to count on the votes to get it approved”, by the National Congress, he stressed.
