The attacks carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran since the early hours of Saturday (28th) continued this Sunday (1st), when the deaths of authorities in the Persian country were confirmed, as the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameneiand former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Military forces from the United States and Israel used social media profiles to announce losses caused by bombings against the country.
The United States Central Command (Centcom), responsible for the country’s military operations in Central Asia and the Middle East, stated this afternoon, in a publication on the social network X, that the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had been destroyed. The information has not been confirmed by Iran.
Centcom denied that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was hit by Iranian missilesas the IRGC had announced.
Also on social media, President Donald Trump said that important Iranian ships had been sunk: “I was just informed that we destroyed and sank nine Iranian Navy ships, some of them relatively large and important. We’re going after the rest — soon, they too will be at the bottom of the sea!”
The Israel Defense Forces, in a publication on X, announced that “all high-ranking terrorist leaders from Iran’s Axis of Terror have been eliminated.”
Bombings and deaths
Until Saturday afternoon alone (28), at least 201 people were killed and 747 injured in Iran. The information is attributed to a spokesperson for the Red Crescent Society, a civil humanitarian organization.
This Sunday, Iran’s Ministry of Education updated the number of girls killed in Saturday’s attack on a school in Minab to 153in the south of the country. Another 95 students were injured.
According to Al Jazeera, Gandhi Hospital in northern Tehran, the capital of Iran, was the target of Israeli and US airstrikes.
“Tehran’s Gandhi Hospital was attacked by Zionist-American airstrikes,” the post said. Fars and Mizan news agencies published a video, allegedly recorded inside the hospital, showing debris on the floor among empty wheelchairs.
On the American side, Centcom reported that three of the country’s military personnel died and five were seriously injured during the attacks on Iran. “Several others” were injured without serious injuries and are expected to return to the conflict.
According to Israel’s national emergency medical and disaster service Magen David Adom (MDA), Iran’s retaliatory strikes left nine people dead and 28 injured, two seriously.
A post by the Israel Defense Forces on social media states that missiles from Iran were fired directly into a neighborhood of Beit Shemesh, killing civilians.
