The hearing against baseball player Wander Franco was postponed this Wednesday until September 26 at 9:00 a.m.
Wander Franco appeared on the morning of Wednesday, August 14, before the Puerto Plata court where the preliminary trial against him was scheduled to take place for sexual abuse of a minor, exploitation of a minor, and human trafficking.
The court adjourned the hearing because the defense attorneys had not been notified of the audiovisual reports.
Franco appeared at the court around 10:00 in the morning along with his group of lawyers headed by Teodosio Jáquez.
The minor’s mother, Martha Vanessa Chevalier Almonte, who is accused of money laundering, was also present.
It is recalled that the shortstop of the Tampa Bay Rays is located in the MLB restricted list after the accusation against him.
Franco smiled at times as he left the court, but he never responded to the journalists who gathered to cover the hearing against him.

The formal accusation against Wander Franco was issued on July 8, for the Public Prosecutor’s OfficeIt is deposited in the First Court of Instruction of the province of Puerto Plata.
The star Major League player for the Tampa Bay Rays is accused of violating the provisions of Principle V, articles 25, 396 letters B and C, 409 and 410, of Law 136-03, which is the Code for the System of Protection of the Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents, articles 265, 266 and 331 of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as article 3 of Law 137-03 on Illicit Trafficking of Migrants and Trafficking in Persons.
