The Public Ministry, together with the High Complexity Crime Investigation Division (Diviac) of the National Police (PNP), raided this Monday, December 26, the home and office of the former Minister of Defence, Walter Ayaladue to the case of irregular promotions of police and military in 2021.
In dialogue with the press, the former head of Defense said that he provided the facilities for the search of his house and described the event as “a show” because -according to him- a long time has passed since his investigation was opened.
“I am ready to be investigated. I have provided the facilities of the case in a transparent manner, but for me this is a show. I am being investigated for alleged promotions that occurred in 2021, it has been about a year and a half. What are they going to find? I think this raid has been unnecessary,” she said.

“I’M NOT A THIEF”
“I have a clear conscience. In a year and a half there have been arrests and in this case recently. I am not a thief, if I were a thief, I would have stolen while Minister of Defense because he handled millions and millions of soles, ”added Ayala, accused of alleged crimes of influence peddling and abuse of authority.
The former minister also said that in Peru “no one has the benefit of due process” and invoked representatives of the Organization of American States (OAS).
“If there are people who have stolen, let them go to jail. No one can rob the government. I am clean, I am not a thief. I am not going to carry other people’s blame behind my back. If I have seen something I am going to tell the prosecutor I am willing to collaborate. If I know something, I will tell the prosecutor, ”he said.
