The former Minister of Economy and Finance, Waldo Mendozaresigned from Fiscal Council (CF) for personal reasons. Through a supreme resolution, the government accepted the departure of the former official.

Mendoza was president of the CF from its creation in December 2015 until December 2020, and subsequently a member of the body from February 2022 to date.
The economist graduated from the National University of San Cristóbal de Huamanga and has a doctorate in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), recently was appointed academic vice-rector of the PUCP, where he also carries out teaching and research work.
After his departure, the CF expressed its “gratitude for the valuable contribution” of the former minister and highlighted his contribution to strengthening it.
“The Fiscal Council would like to take this opportunity to express its gratitude for the valuable contribution of Waldo Mendoza during his time at the institution, highlighting his contribution to strengthening the Fiscal Council and the technical analyzes that support its work. Likewise, we extend our best wishes to him in their future projects,” said the CF.
What is the Fiscal Council?
The CF, according to its own portal, is an autonomous and technical commission of the public sector, which strengthens the transparency and institutionality of public finances, through the analysis and monitoring of fiscal policies.
Currently, the Council has Alonso Segura as president, and its members also include Javier Escobal, José Vicente Valderrama and Carolina Trivelli.
