Waldemar Cerrón: Kelly Portalatino "has always been an option" for the Ministry of Health

The spokesman for the Free Peru caucus, Waldemar Cerronaffirmed that his colleague Kelly Portalatino “has always been an option” for the Ministry of Health (Minsa), whose head, Hernán Condori, was censured by Congress last Thursday.

Speaking to journalists, he indicated that his party has to “always recommend” and asserted that in Free Peru There are doctors, nurses and “very good professionals”.

“We always have to recommend. There are very good professional doctors and nurses. I hope that the benches let us work now because what would be the pretext now? It is not good that they are censoring you every time. If they don’t let you work, they will never know what the results of your work will be.”he expressed.

“(Kelly Portalatino) has always been an option, it’s like saying Álex Paredes is an option for education. Obviously any of us can have that possibility and that job.”he added.

As recalled, By 71 votes in favor, 32 against and 13 abstentions, Congress approved the censorship presented last week against Hernán Condoriwho had already been questioned by the Plenary on March 23.

The document detailed that the owner of the Ministry of Health lacked suitability to occupy the position, since a few days before his appointment “he exercised his profession inappropriately by promoting the sale of Cluster X2 (‘agua arracimada’) attributing to it medicinal properties that have not been verified or certified by any official or academic authority”.

Also, he realized that Condori Machado used his status as a doctor to promote a cervical cancer diagnostic service in 1 minute, despite not having a specialty in gynecology or oncology.
