Voluntad Popular (VP) demands the release of the former mayor of Barquisimeto and university professor Macario González, who has been under forced disappearance for two months.
During this time, the party says, his human rights have been violated by not informing him where he is, nor allowing his family and lawyers to establish contact with him.
«Macario has not committed any crime. He is only a teacher who has dedicated his life to serving Venezuela as former mayor of Barquisimeto, deputy and member of the National Directorate of Popular Will,” argues the orange awning in a message published on the social network X, this Wednesday the 12th.

According to the testimony of those close to him, González left an academic activity in Barquisimeto on September 12 and since then there has been no information about him. Although they have visited different police forces and hospitals, they have not been able to find the location of the former deputy.
The Penal Forum organization pointed out that as of November 3, there were 884 people deprived of liberty in Venezuela for political reasons, including 85 foreigners.
