Popular will (VP) rejected, in a statement, the statements of the president of the 2020 National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, who denied the possibility of international observation in the 2024 presidential elections.

«Avoiding electoral observation is just another of the dictatorship’s strategies so that the free world does not know first-hand the majority will for change. and desire for freedom that all the Venezuelan people have, because we know that we are the majority and we have always won fairly, above all the traps and tricks of the regime,” the opposition party said on the night of this Thursday, July 13.

Likewise, VP emphasized that the “dictatorship” once again shows its intention to end the electoral process and not give any guarantee for the achievement of free and verifiable elections, “thus outlining a panorama identical to that of Nicaragua, where an opposition was forged tailored to the regime of Daniel Ortega».

The party ratified its commitment to the electoral route and the choice of a unitary candidate who assumes the unwavering commitment to conquer the freedom of Venezuela “in a peaceful and democratic manner.”

Likewise, VP rejected the use of symbols of the State and institutional spaces to attack a foreign Parliament, in this case the European Parliament, “which assumes a democratic position in adherence to the Venezuelan laws themselves and which knows very well the illegal and indiscriminate use of the disqualifications as a tool to persecute and annihilate the Venezuelan democratic leadership”.

Earlier, Jorge Rodríguez assured that they will not allow international electoral observation, particularly from the European Union, for next year’s presidential elections.
