The candidate for senator, Yolanda Paredes, wife of the presidential candidate Paraguayan Cubas, said that, during the tours of the country, they felt the sympathy of the people and that winning the Paraguayan vote is not an easy task.
Almost two hours after the gates closed, the candidate Yolanda Paredes analyzed what the elections have left so far and the high number of votes that can already be seen in favor of Paraguayo Cubas, in the preliminary count of the Electoral Justice.
“We felt the sympathy of the people, we visited all the departments, we reached the last corner of the country. It is not easy to win the Paraguayan vote,” said Paredes, in an interview with Mina Feliciángeli on 1080 AM.
He highlighted the high participation and that people came out to choose, therefore, one cannot speak of apathy or civic indifference. He was of the opinion that the message of Paraguayo Cubas reached the people and that this was reflected in the numbers available up to now.
With about 44% of the polling stations counted, Paraguayo Cubas is in third place with 19.82% of the votes, equivalent to 248,339 voters.
Santiago Peña remains the winner with 45.21% of the votes, followed by Efraín Alegre with 28.14%.
