A new group of citizens received specialized training to face forest fires in natural areas of the country. The educational day focused on strengthening environmental emergencies response and expanding the scope of community brigades.
The course, taught by forest firefighter David Falsiroli, addressed updated fire control techniques, prevention methods and recovery actions in affected areas. Participants acquired essential knowledge about fire behavior, tools and coordination with official bodies in risk situations.
During the activity, Falsiroli stressed the need to sensitize the population about the impact of fires on natural heritage and the importance of environmental education that represents an effective way to reduce the intensity of these events in the future and avoid irreversible damage to vulnerable ecosystems.
The initiative seeks to consolidate a network of trained volunteers that act articulated with the competent authorities. Citizen participation is presented as a key element for the protection of national parks, forest reserves and natural monuments, especially in high incidence seasons.
With this formative action, promoted by the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, it reinforces its Risk Management and Environmental Conservation Policy. The new brigades are expected to contribute to surveillance, control and mitigation in critical areas, in line with national ecological defense plans.
