Voluntad Popular denounces raid on activist Yamileth Oropeza's home

The political party reported that Sebin officials raided the home of Yamileth Oropeza, director of the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers and activist of Voluntad Popular in the municipality of Torres, Lara state

The Voluntad Popular (VP) party reported on Friday, September 13, that the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) raided the home of its activist Yamileth Oropeza in Lara state.

“On Friday afternoon, at 4:00 pm, SEBIN officials illegally raided the home of Yamileth Oropeza, director of the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers and activist of Voluntad Popular in the Torres municipality, Lara state,” the organization wrote on the social network X.

VP indicated that during the raid, officers showed an arrest warrant against Oropeza for the crime of damage to private property.

“We warn that the regime could try to link her, without any basis, with the events that occurred on July 30 at the PSUV facilities in Carora. Yamileth has not committed any crime,” the organization said.

Finally, Voluntad Popular once again warned of the “atrocious persecution” of the Nicolás Maduro government against the team of said political party.
