Voluntad Popular assures that the crisis due to rains shows the mismanagement of the Executive

Popular Will, via Twitter, pointed out that the Venezuelan State did not do preventive work in high-risk areas, which caused the consequences of the rains to be serious. He said that such work should have been done since 1999 after the Vargas tragedy


The Voluntad Popular party assured this Saturday, October 29, that the rains recorded in the country in recent weeks have exposed the “mismanagement” of the administration of Nicolás Maduro in the face of the crisis, as well as the “fragility” of those who currently hold power.

Through their social networksVoluntad Popular stressed that the authorities have not drawn up preventive maintenance plans in high-risk areas, which in their opinion caused many streams and rivers to overflow and cause human losses and considerable material damage.

He denounced that the citizen protection bodies do not have the necessary equipment to deal with the emergencies that occur due to the rains and stressed that since 1999, when the Vargas tragedy occurred, work should have been done in the risk areas. to avoid tragedies like the ones experienced in 2022 with rainfall in various states of the country.

Popular Will claims occur one day later that the rains caused the overflow of the El Cojo river, along with other tributaries, in the state of Vargas that caused flooding in streets and entire residences.

Through videos broadcast on social networks, citizens of Vargas reported that at least one water basin overflowed, while three others would be in the same danger, located in the Macuto, Caraballeda and Naiguatá parishes, to the west of the entity.

The audiovisual record allows determining the collapse of the El Cojo River. The strong current came out of the flow and devastated several structures, as was the case of the Agua Marina residences, where it is detailed how the retaining walls give way and the water penetrates the residential area.

The Minister of the Interior and Justice, A/J Remigio Ceballosassured that around 26,000 families have been affected until October 28 in Venezuela by the rains, as well as highlighting that 900 tons of supplies have been delivered to affected communities in 14 states,
