The secretary general of Peru Libre, Vladimir Cerron, pointed out that the Peru Libre caucus did well not to give the vote of confidence to the Cabinet of Mirtha Vásquez because this had an “inconsequential” management result.
Cerrón Rojas’ message comes after President Pedro Castillo announced that he would renew his team of ministers, starting with its head, Mirtha Vásquez, who took office in October 2021.
“New Cabinet was postponed since December. The premier and ministers leave, annoyed with the government that opened the door to them, even against the will of their caucus. Time proved PL right in voting against the Caviar Cabinet, whose management result is inconsequential”, he wrote on his Twitter account.
Previously, the position of premier was held by the Free Peru legislator, Guido Bellido, who is close to Cerrón. Bellido Ugarte was the first Chief of Staff of the current administration and held the position from July to October of last year.
Cabinet Changes
President Pedro Castillo announced the reconformation of his Cabinet this Monday on his social networks. So far, only the resignation of Mirtha Vásquez (PCM) and Avelino Guillén (Interior) is known.
“As I have always announced in my speeches, the cabinet is constantly being evaluated. For this reason, I have decided to renew it and form a new team. I appreciate the support of Mirtha Vásquez and ministers of State. We will continue along the path of development for the good of the country”, Castillo Terrones wrote on Twitter.
