The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, together with the director of the National Administration of Laboratories and Health Institutes (ANLIS) “Dr. Carlos Malbrán”, Pascual Fidelio, received the representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in Argentina, Eva Jané Llopis, with whom they analyzed new opportunities for cooperation and strategies to reform federal and regional actions, reported the Tuesday.
“This meeting is part of what we have been working on from the beginning, which is to strengthen the bond and interaction, in this case with the Pan American Health Organization, in relation to the work and role that Argentina and ANLIS- Malbrán have, not only at the national level but also regionally,” Vizzotti explained, according to a statement from the health portfolio.
After highlighting the work of the ANLIS collaborating centers with PAHO and recalling that science, technology, and research have been prioritized since the beginning of the national government’s administration, Minister Vizzotti assured that “we have to materialize achievements and links, and that the information generated from the institutes is for action”.
Finally, Vizzotti celebrated that the ANLIS reference centers for PAHO have an important role for both the country and the region and invited them to “an analysis of what we can not only continue doing but improve and add to the collaboration with the Organization Pan American Health”.
For her part, Jané Llopis expressed: “PAHO/WHO highlights the valuable work of the ANLIS-Malbrán Institute, as well as the PAHO/WHO collaborating centers belonging to said institution, contributing with their daily work to improve the In this sense, joint efforts will allow us to promote work at the country level as well as consolidate the technical cooperation of the centers as benchmarks in the region”.
Meanwhile, Fidelio highlighted the historical relationship that OPS has with ANLIS-Malbrán and explained that the purpose of the meeting is to analyze “some potential that we have going forward.”
In addition, the head of ANLIS mentioned the investment of more than 1,000 million pesos in two years between works and equipment, added the official statement.

Maiztegui” (INEVH), María de los Ángeles Conti; the director of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (INEI), Viviana Molina; the director of the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases “Dr. Emilio Coni” (INER), Juan Carlos Bossio; the director of the National Institute of Parasitology “Dr. Mario Fatala Chaben” (INP), Soledad Santini; the person responsible for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases PAHO / WHO in Argentina, Tamara Mancero and her successor Wilmer Marquiño; and the head of PAHO/WHO COVID-19 Surveillance in Argentina, María Florencia Pérez.
