The former president of the Republic, Martin Vizcarrahas generated a public debate after a publication made on his social networks, a few days after the reading of his sentence for the alleged crime of corruption.
Vizcarra, who is currently under judicial investigation, shared an image through his Instagram account from inside the cabin of a plane, with incidental music of the song Mission Impossible and detailing his destination: “Traveling to Tacna, the southern border.”
The photograph was accompanied by hashtags that included the words #leak and #joke, an act that could be perceived as a provocation in the context of his impending court ruling.
The dissemination of this image occurs at a crucial moment for the former president.
The Judiciary has determined that the sentencing hearing will take place next Wednesday, November 26 at 9:00 am Vizcarra is prosecuted for the alleged commission of the crime of bribery in the awarding of public works.
The accusation maintains that he received 2.3 million soles in bribes during his tenure as regional governor of Moquegua for the concession of the projects: Lomas de Ilo and the Moquegua Hospital. The oral trial against him has culminated after a process that lasted almost fourteen months.
The former president emphatically reaffirmed his innocence, saying that he will respect the decision: “I will respect the justice that you give.”
